They discussed this week's Geneva conference in the context of international response to Pakistan's worst natural disaster and also exchanged views on the next month's donors' conference being held in Islamabad.
The President thanked Kofi Annan for his personal interest and leading efforts in enlisting international support for large-scale relief operations following the October 8 tragedy that had claimed more than 54,000 lives and left millions of people shelterless. .
Meanwhile, President of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifah Bin Zayed Al Nahayan also discussed on telephone with President Musharraf the rehabilitation and reconstruction issues.
In 45-minute conversation both the leaders discussed the short, medium and long-term requirements for rehabilitation of the quake victims and reconstruction of the affected areas.
The UAE president assured his fullest support for the people devastated by the earthquake.
Musharraf appreciated the UAE Ruler and his government's timely and generous response to the relief efforts.
The President said that the way UAE had supported the Pakistani brethren in their hour of need showed the strong ties existing between the two countries.
He said the government and people of Pakistan are thankful to the support extended by the UAE.
