In its annual report published on Friday, the MoD revealed British operations in the Gulf totalled 910 million pounds (1.34 billion euros, 1.61 billion dollars) in the last financial year - April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005 - compared to 1.3 billion pounds (1.9 billion euros, 2.3 billion dollar) in 2003/4.
A total of 847 million pounds (1.25 billion euros, 1.5 billion dollar) was spent in 2002/3.
Figures showed the MoD spent 30.88 billion pounds (45.42 billion euros, 54.7 billion dollar) overall in the year to March 2005, including 67 million (98.57 million euro, 118.8 million dollar) in Afghanistan and 87 million (128 million euro, 227 million dollar) in the Balkans.
