A big demonstration and sit in was held by APHC, AJK chapter, before the UNMOGIP office in Rawalpindi APHC convenor, executive members and leaders of Azad Kashmir addressed the rally on the occasion.
Amid high pitched slogans and display of banners placards against continuous human rights abuses by Indian occupation forces in occupied J&K, convenor of APHC AJK, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani presented a memorandum to the officials of the UNMOGIP.
The memorandum called upon the UN Secretary General to impress upon India to reduce her troops and withdraw them from cities and towns of Jammu and Kashmir.
It also urged India to repeal draconian laws, release political detunes, soften passport, visa and travel policy for Kashmiris and initiate steps for a just, peaceful and durable settlement of Kashmir through a tripartite dialogue on the basis of right of self determination.
The memorandum warned that India was perpetuating human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir even in post quake tragedy and her claim of restoring telecommunication with Azad Kashmir was only farce and false because the telephone booths were being supervised and monitored strictly by police in violation of the international law.
