Ten students and four transporters were injured in a clash, erupted between a group of students and transport workers in front of Government Commerce College Toba Tek Singh here on Thursday. Police have registered a case against two dozens of students and transporters and taken seven wagons into custody, which were damaged during the violent encounter.

According to reports reaching here, students of Government Commerce College blocked road for two hours in protest against transporters, who attacked some of the students and beaten them inhumanly. The enraged students also ransacked a passenger wagon.

In the meantime, dozens of transporters reached there for negotiation with rival students in the office of the collage principal.

Over the exchange of hard talks, both the groups started pelting stones on each other as a result of which 10 students and four transporters sustained injuries.

The transport workers also allegedly resorted to aerial firing.

DSP Sadar Muhammad Aslam Shankar reached the spot and assured students that action would be taken against the responsible transporters.
