Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (Piaf) has welcomed the decision of the city district government, imposing ban on manufacturing of kites and thread as well as kite flying.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Piaf Vice-Chairman, Mubashar Sheikh, said that this sport had already claimed many lives, apart from interrupting electricity supply or rendering electronic equipment out of order. He added that disruption in electricity supply also affects the production schedule of industries.

He claimed that 95 percent citizen; business and social organisations had demanded ban on kite flying.

Meanwhile, he urged the masses to change their thinking and traditions of marriage. He appealed to the masses to restrain festivities of marriages to nikah only and save money by not holding other festivities, which could be spent for the upbringing of children affected due to recent earthquake or marriages of those young girls, who have lost their parents in this devastation.
