She was speaking as chief guest while inaugurating the High tech: Central Resource Laboratory and newly launched discipline of M.Sc Telemedicine and e-Health programme of the University of Sindh here on Thursday.
Dr Khuhro said that the University of Sindh by setting up the High Tech: Central Resource Laboratory has achieved a high mark of academic profile among the universities of Pakistan.
She said that the university in the present times with all required facilities as well as faculty members and scholars has achieved a high reputation and stressed upon the university teachers to maintain the status with their continuous efforts.
Dr Khuhro said that the University of Sindh has proved as higher educational institute, which will help the graduate of the university to compete in job market with added knowledge and ability.
She said that the teachers of the degree colleges would get benefit from the scholarships as announced by the university and added that the study leave facility would also be provided to the teachers concerned.
Dr Hamida Khuhro congratulated to the university for setting up the high level High Tech: Central Resource Laboratory and said that it is a first pioneered efforts of the university among the public sector universities of Pakistan.
The provincial minister appreciated efforts taken by the university for promotion of higher education and research in science disciplines and suggested for establishment of the institute of history and anthropology in the university and said that the anthropology of the province of Sindh is rich which needs attention for the preservation.
She also hails the idea of vice chancellor for handing over one or two colleges to university for setting of institutes and for higher education and research facilities.
The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui stressed upon the scholars for research work with dedication and scarifies for betterment of the society. He also emphasised the need for involving the young scientists in the research activities.
The VC informed the audience that Sindh University with the help of the Higher Education Commission, which provided Rs 38 million and with investment of its own resources with amount of Rs 13 million completed the laboratory project.
The Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences and Project Director HTCRL Dr Muhammad Yar Khuhawar speaking on this occasion presented a brief introduction of the laboratory.
Dr Abdul Wahab Ansari Director Institute of Information Technology on this occasion presented introduction of the newly launched M.Sc telemedicine and e.Health programme in the University of Sindh.
