The Dewa Trust has appealed for donations from all sections of the people including philanthropists to be used in various welfare activities, including the establishment of the Dewa University for special students.

The university will function with two complexes, one in Karachi and the other in Islamabad. The estimated capital cost of the first phase of the Dewa University is Rs 269 million while the running expenses will be over Rs 99 million annually.

In an appeal sent to important persons in different segments of society, Dewa Trust honorary finance secretary said the donations could be deposited in A/c No 081-00412-01-3 at Bank Al-Habib, Gulshan Chowrangi branch, Karachi.

It has also been pointed out that all donations for the Dewa Trust are exempted from tax under Section 2(36)(c) of the Income Tax Act.

The appeal stated that the Trust has been functioning since last forty years providing meaningful education to the children with special needs.

"Hundreds of such students have already been rehabilitated and are functional self-reliant members of the society today. The Dewa University will provide education in 16 disciplines.
