Police personnel have been directed to beef up security at all city mosques and Imam Bargahs on Jumatul Wida. These directives were issued by Sindh Inspector General of Police Asad Jehangir here on Thursday.

He directed the capital city police officer (CCPO), Karachi and regional police officers, Sukkur and Hyderabad, to increase security at mosques, Imam Bargahs and other religious places for the public safety.

According to a Sindh police spokesman, the IGP further said police officers and personnel should be deployed at police reporting centres situated at shopping centres and other busy public places.

He directed officers that patrolling of police and snap checking be increased to ensure law and order situation.
