Modest recover was seen in the value of the rupee versus the dollar in the interbank market on Wednesday on easy supply of the greenback, dealers said.

According to the market sources the rupee after maintaining firm trend for the long time, lost its firmness on Tuesday due to rising demand by the importers. But the rupee moved slightly in the plus column because of higher trend in the inflows.

OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee followed same trend versus the dollar, gaining five paisa for buying and selling at 60.00 and 60.05, respectively.

The rupee slipped versus the euro, dropping 65 paisa for buying and selling at Rs 72.05 and Rs 72.15 on rising its value in the overseas market, respectively.

The dollar fell in the world markets on negative trend in the US consumer confidence data, dealers said.
