A delegation of Sudan Boy Scout Association is arriving in Pakistan with relief material to help ease the suffering of the victims of earthquake.

The Association has collected 180 tons of medicine, surgical equipment, foodstuff and 150,000 blankets. Dr Atif Abdelmageed, International Commissioner, Sudan Boy Scouts Association is leading the delegation. Dr Abdelmageed has ample experience of the aid work in emergencies in many countries including Mozambique and Indonesia during the Tsunami tragedy.

Dr Abdel Mageed has requested the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association to assist them in the humanitarian work during their stay in Pakistan.

His mobile number is 002-499-12145025 and the satellite phone number is 00882163338945. The Sudanese ambassador in Pakistan could also be contacted if more information is required for the process of the humanitarian mission.

The aid mission intends to hand over the relief goods to the government authority in Pakistan and has asked active co-operation from the Boy Scout Association of Pakistan.

It would be a matter of pride for the Pakistan Boy Scout Association that John Geoghegan, Director, World Scout Foundation based in Geneva has lavishly praised it. In a message to the Pakistan Boy Scout Association he has praised the good work done by them.

Geoghegan said that he was impressed by their work after watching CNN, ITN, SKY news, etc on the first days following the devastating earthquake, which tragically hit Pakistan.

Geoghegan also asked the Pakistani Scout Association to send him a summary of their work so that other scouts in the world could be informed about the tragedy and their work. The Pakistani Scout Association responded and true to his promise, Geoghegan sent the information world-wide. The Sudan Scout Association was moved by the message and moved quickly to help their stricken brethren in Pakistan.
