The Shawwal moon should be sighted on November 3 (Thursday). Shawwal One, 1426 AH, ie Eid, should fall on Friday November 4. According to astronomical parameters there is a very good chance of sighting the Shawwal moon next Thursday.

The moon will cross the conjunction line on November 2 (Wednesday) at 06:25 Pakistan Standard Time (PST). The time of sunset on that day will be 17:51 PST, and the time of evening civil twilight (ECTL) will be 18:15 PST. The moon will set at 18:40 PST.

Thus the age of the new moon will be 35 hours and 50 minutes at ECTL. It will set 49 minutes after sunset and 25 minutes after ECTL. At the time of ECTL the moon will be at an altitude of four degrees and 48 minutes and at an azimuth of 241 degrees and one minute.

At the time of sunset the moon will be at an altitude of nine degrees and 19 minutes and at an azimuth of 238 degrees and 19 minutes.
