The Capital Development Authority in collaboration with some civil society organisations has provided temporary shelter in emergency camps to at least 4,296 earthquake victims in Islamabad.

According to CDA sources, 1,500 of them are injured and being treated in major hospitals of Islamabad. Majority of the injured, about 730, is in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

According to details, around 315 people are in camps set up in front of Aabpara community centre, 235 in sports complex, 90 in G-9 community centre, 22 in camps of Argentina Park, 237 in capital hospital, 400 in Iqbal hall, 166 in Aam Saraya, 1400 in Hockey ground and 800 are living in H-11 tent village.

Khubaib Foundation, Islamabad, Bali Foundation, Lahore, and Sultana Foundation are key partners of the CDA in settling and feeding these victims. It is also learnt intelligence agencies have beefed up security measures, particularly for children and women, to save them from falling into the hands of miscreants.
