Deputy Inspector General of Police (Traffic) Muhammad Altaf Qamar has terminated services of seven police officials, including a sub inspector, an ASI, and five constables following the complaints of extortion in the name of Eidee from transporters.

The DIG also suspended 15 other officials for corruption charges against them and ordered inquiry in to the matter. He said that services of these officials would be terminated under new ordinance of services if allegations were proved true.

DIG has also issued a circular to all SPs (traffic) and DSPs to keep vigilant eyes on the activities of subordinate staff and warned that if any complaint of extortion received the concerned SP and DSP would be held responsible.
