Labour Department has distributed the cheques for payment of over rupees 180 million among the Industrial Workers so for in Faisalabad on account of marriage grant, death grant and educational scholarships etc.

Giving details here on Monday, the District Officer Labour Muhammad Aslam Javed said the amount also included the cheques for Rs 16 million the Federal Minister for Commerce Humayun Akhtar Khan distributed among the workers in a function held here during his recent visit.

Besides the Minister, City District Nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef, DCO Athar Hussain Khan Sial, Senior Administrative Officer Liaquat Ali Chattha, industrialists, industrial workers and members Human Resource Board attended the function.

District Officer labour informed 203 cheques of marriage grant amounting to over Rs six million, 16 cheques of death grant amounting to Rs 2.3 million and 171 cheques of talent scholarships amounting to Rs 2.2 million were distributed among the workers during the function.

District Officer labour further said a committee comprising industrialists, councillors and representatives of industrial workers had finalised the list of beneficiaries by considering the eligibility of workers in a systematic and transparent manner for providing them monetary assistance.
