The Export Development Fund (EDF) has given final approval for installing the computerised patron making machines, worth 52,050 dollars in the offices of Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (Plgmea) in Sialkot.

Plgmea sources told the newsmen here on Monday that the installation of these ultra-modern machines would be helpful in bringing the advanced technology in country, besides, enhancing the exports of leather garments from Karachi and Sialkot.

The sources said that the two ultra modern computerised embroidery machines worth $9.56 million would also be established in Plgmea's Karachi and Sialkot offices through the Export Development Fund (EDF) in active collaboration with the local business community for providing them advanced technical facilities at local level.

They said these machines were being used in the major importing countries of leather garments from Pakistan, enabling Pakistan's export-oriented leather garments industry to stand with the above mentioned technology in the international trade and export markets.
