The Prime Minister said that house made of fibreglass and corrugated sheets are being prepared with a view to providing shelter to those who have been rendered homeless by the earthquake, at the approach of winter season.
He further stated that the earthquake tragedy has jellied the whole nation together and a unique sense of unity is present throughout the country. He said that a strong bond has been established from Karachi to Khyber as individuals and organisations are rushing to help the victims of the tragedy.
The Prime Minister also thanked the chief minister for providing land to establish tent cities at Fateh Jang and Chakwal. He said that all out efforts are being made to enable the affectees lead a normal life once again. He said that tent schools are also being established in the affected areas to enable the students rejoin their studies.
The chief minister commended the efforts of the federal government to help rehabilitate the affectees of the earthquake tragedy in a speedy manner and assured co-operation in this noble endeavour.
The Prime Minister said that the government would not allow adoption of children from the earthquake-affected areas under any circumstances. The rehabilitation of these children is the responsibility of the government and it would fulfil its responsibilities. However, government will allow very reputable, credible, established and highly professional civil society organisations to be government's partners in this noble cause, he added.-PR
