Germany's Timo Boll won the table tennis World Cup on Sunday with a 4-3 win over China's Wang Hao. Boll, the world number two, won 11-3, 4-11, 11-8, 3-11, 11-13, 11-8, 11-5 against the fourth ranked Chinese star.

Wang, the Olympic Games silver medallist and world champion in the doubles, was the third Chinese player to have lost to Boll in the tournament.

Boll had beaten world number one Wang Liqin in the quarter-finals before seeing off defending champion Ma Lin in the last four.

Boll's second World Cup win earned him 135,000 dollars.
