Deputy Inspector General of Police Multan Malik Muhammad Iqbal has asked all the DPOs of Multan range to take action against unauthorised manufacturers of CNG kits and also appealed to the vehicle-owners not to use any substandard and unapproved kits in their vehicles to escape from any mishap.

The petroleum ministry has also taken a serious view on the incident of explosion of a CNG cylinder at CNG station during the filling of gas resultantly a motorcyclist, Amer Hussain, died and three salesmen injured on Sunday night, window panes of the neighbouring offices and shops were also broken and gas filling machine badly damaged.

The gas terminal manager said: "We had incurred a loss of Rs 1.4 million due to explosion of substandard CNG tank.
