Police have submitted the list of 19 foreign students studying in four religious seminaries of Multan and now administration is all set to expel them. Some 1,474 foreign students are facing expulsion and they would be expelled in first phase during the current month, more may follow in the weeks to come.

Some Arab states including Yemen have appealed to Government of Pakistan to review its decision because they had gone to Pakistan for sacred purpose.

Sources said that Islamabad had made contacts with Malaysian, Indonesian, Thailand, Sri-lanka, UAE, Sudan and other governments and asked them to facilitate the ousting process of their nationals who had been roaming around in a considerable number from quite some time.

"The process of repatriating such students would start soon. However, no exact deadline has been given for these students to go back, but we have collected complete information about them," said DIG Police Multan, Malik Muhammad Iqbal.
