The President condemned "this act of terrorism in the strongest possible terms."
He said, "I would like to convey to you and the brotherly people of Egypt our heartfelt condolences on this horrendous act and would like to assure you the people of Pakistan stand together with the people of Egypt in this very trying moment."
President Musharraf said the incident itself has further fortified the commitment to stand and fight together against terrorism.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in his condolence message to Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif said it was indeed with profound sadness that he learnt of the shocking news of bomb explosions in Sharm el-Sheikh causing death and injury to a number of innocent people. He said the heinous act of terrorism has to be condemned.
Shaukat Aziz said, "At the same time, this incident reinforces the need on our part to stand firm in combating and eradicating the menace of terrorism."
The Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people of Pakistan and on his own to convey to Prime Minister and the people of Egypt.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri telephoned his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit and condemned the terrorist bombing in Sharm El-Shaikh.
He conveyed the condolences of the Government and people of Pakistan to the Government and people of Egypt on this terrorist attack. He said that their prayers were with the families and victims who have suffered in this attack. He said that Pakistan stands with Egypt in confronting this menace.
