Illegal occupants of state land of 5 kanal and 15 marla near Dharmpura underpass would be provided alternative land on humanitarian grounds, and in this regard a summary for the approval of the chief minister Punjab would be submitted within next few days. Punjab Minister for Colonies, Mian Manazar Ali Ranjha stated this while presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday, disclosed an official.

Member Colonies Tariq Yousaf, Secretary Colonies Abdul Ghafoor Bhatti, Chief Engineer Irrigation Lahore Muhammad Waqar Khan, Director Katchi Abadies Tariq Zaman Khan, deputy district officer revenue and officers of highways department attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that 64 families had illegally occupied 5-kanal, 15 marla and 198 square feet piece of land belonging to irrigation department Punjab and Pakistan Railways near Dharmpura underpass.

The meeting decided that this piece of land should be transferred to the highways department for the construction of roads while 64 families who were residing over this land illegally should be accommodated at some other place in Lahore.

He directed the colonies department to identify a piece of land in Lahore for this purpose. He further directed the member colonies to prepare a summary for the chief minister without any delay.
