Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said provision of modern infrastructure has been ensured in all industrial estates in the province, and completion of Sundar Industrial Estate and other industrial projects in Faisalabad, Multan and other cities would generate million of job opportunities. He was presiding over a high-level meeting that reviewed the progress of industrial sector, here on Tuesday.

Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Jehangir Khan Tareen, Provincial Minister for Industries and Investment, Muhammad Ajmal Cheema and senior officials were present on the occasion.

Pervaiz said foolproof security arrangements have been made in industrial estates in the province, while new hospitals were being constructed for the provision of health facilities to industrial workers.

Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Jehangir Khan Tareen said combined effluent treatment plants are being established in industrial estates, while federal government has evolved a comprehensive strategy for the provision of gas, electricity and other energy sources in industrial estates.

He said solid measures were being adopted to give a practical shape to the successful experiments of Punjab in industrial sector in other provinces as well. He said large-scale investment was being made in 47 industrial sectors in Sundar Industrial Estate.

Provincial Minister for Industries and Investment, Muhammad Ajmal Cheema said investment to the tune of Rs 30 billion was expected in Sundar Industrial Estate and local and international entrepreneurs were showing keen interest for investment in textile, carpet, pharmaceutical, chemical engineering, leather and other sectors.
