There were vast opportunities of Pak-India co-operation in mineral sector, and a representative delegation from Pakistan would visit India shortly. Punjab Mines and Mineral Minister Muhammad Sibtain Khan said this while talking to a delegation of mine owners belonging to various parts of the province here on Tuesday. The Minister said open trade would be increased among member countries after the implementation of South Asia Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc) trade agreement.

Bilateral co-operation would be further strengthened in the mineral sector, especially in the field of gas, rock, salt, coal, iron, copper and gypsum, he added.

He further said the government was launching a comprehensive programme for the development of mineral sector in the province, which would help in accommodating thousands of jobless people.
