United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan's Country Representative, Onder Yucer has called upon opinion leaders to encourage the society to come forward with collective progress and prosperity using the available resources. This he said while addressing the nazims and community members of District Kohat at Circuit House Kohat here on Tuesday. Present on the occasion were National Project Co-ordinator UNDP Azam Khan, District Nazim Malik Asad, district co-ordination officer (DCO) Arshad Majeed Mohmand, besides a large number of local elected representatives and female members.

Onder said that the responsibility of UNDP was only to support and co-ordinate the efforts of local communities in order to enable them to mobilise their local resources and capabilities for durable development and prosperity of the society.

He advised the participants to organise local communities as lawyers, teachers, journalists and social workers and make joint efforts for sustainable development.

He assured full co-operation in implementation of the local development projects in various social sectors. The UNDP representative also visited some local health, education and technical training institutions of district government Kohat.
