Deep shock and dismay over the demise of Nawab Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, the oldest Aligarh University Student in Pakistan on Monday, has been expressed by members of the Aligarh Old Boys Association who had hosted a function in his honour only ten days ago and lauded his contribution to the development of Muslim expertise and his contribution also in strengthening Pakistan. Nawab Mushtaq Ahmed Khan died in Karachi on Monday at the age of over 101 years. He celebrated his 101st birthday anniversary last month with all his family members, including sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters.

Nawab Mushtaq Ahmed Khan had worked in the Nazim State Railways before partition as the General Manager and had also been responsible for the launching of road bus service connecting different cities in Hyderabad Deccan State of the Nizam.

He came to Karachi in 1947 after being appointed as the Agent General of Hyderabad State in Pakistan and served in that capacity for sometime, even after the fall of Hyderabad State to Indian aggression. He later went to Lahore and worked as chairman of the Punjab Road Transport Board and later for the West Pakistan Road Transport Board.

After retirement, he took up permanent residence in Lahore and managed his landed property in Jaranwala. Nawab Mushtaq Ahmed Khan also wrote a book on the fall of Hyderabad and his work especially in Karachi as the Agent General of Hyderabad.
