Sindh Employees' Social Security Institution (Sessi) Commissioner Asif Marghoob Siddiqui reviewed the working of Sessi. The commissioner, in a press release, issued here on Tuesday by Sessi, said that Sindh Labour, Transport, Industries and Commerce Minister Mohammad Adil Siddiqui had been laying emphasis on increasing the number of secured workers in Sindh so that more and more persons could be benefited by the scheme.

Presenting the details of last month progress, the C&B director informed the commissioner that Sessi has disbursed a total sum of Rs 2.447 million as cash benefits to secured workers and their dependants during October last.

This disbursement includes Rs 0.446 million paid as sickness benefits followed by Rs 1.434 million as disablement pension/gratuity, Rs 0.337 million as injury benefit, Rs 0.194 million as survivors' pension, Rs 30,000 as maternity benefits and Rs 6,000 as death grant.

A sum of Rs 64.551 million was collected as social security contribution from 16,928 registered establishments employing 0.295 million workers during the month under review.-PR
