Indonesian share prices closed 0.12 percent higher on Monday to another record on the back of expectations for positive earnings at companies yet to release their 2004 results, dealers said. The Jakarta Stock Exchange composite index closed up 1.285 points at a new high of 1,093.778, extending its record breaking run for a fifth consecutive session. Volume was 2.76 billion shares valued at 1.95 trillion rupiah (209.9 million dollars). Gainers led losers 103 to 44, while 61 stocks were unchanged.
The rupiah traded at 9,270-9,275 to the dollar compared to Friday's 9,250-9,255. State telecom firm Telkom dropped 75 rupiah at 4,625 rupiah, while long distance operator Indosat lost 50 rupiah at 5,500.
Cigarette maker Gudang Garam fell 50 rupiah at 16,450 while rival Sampoerna was flat at 8,000.
Carmaker Astra International fell 100 rupiah at 11,100.
