Please refer to the news that some officials are trying to restore the Sales Tax Audit for their own benefit. It is correct that at the time of audit the person is asked for ransom otherwise he shall be put under heavy tax liability for discrepancies. As a layman he thinks that some mistake may have been committed, hence, under pressure, he surrenders. Under the so-called process of audit the registered person, not having proper knowledge of the provisions in the English language is threatened of the liability to be created.

Last month the Central Board of Revenue suspended the audit for six month for sales tax matters.

It is requested to kindly extend the limit for 2 years for audit as the business community suffered losses and paid less taxes as auditors demanded a lot of money.

I hope that the government and the Central Board of Revenue will look in to the grievances of the business community.
