All Punjab Rickshaw Taxi Unions Federation, Punjab, has announced to observe hunger strike here on February 24 and complete 'wheel jam' strike on March 01, against the Transport department's policy of banning manufacturing of 2-stroke rickshaws. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Federation held here on Monday with Muhammad Javed Sabir in the chair. Representatives of rickshaw associations from different cities of the country attended the meeting.

The meeting made an appeal to the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, Governor and Chief Minister Punjab to look into the matter and order thorough probe in to the matter about ban on 2-stroke rickshaws.

The representatives of different associations, which participated in the meeting, formed a joint platform namely 'Two-stroke rickshaws save movement.' Office-bearers of this movement will be elected in next few days.
