The Prime Minister said during these meetings, bilateral relations, regional situation and co-operation between the two countries in different fields were discussed extensively.
He said he also discussed the challenges being faced by the Muslim Ummah with the Saudi leadership and there was complete unanimity of views between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia that there is need to project true and real picture of moderate, progressive and enlightened Islam, which is a religion of peace.
The Prime Minister said that during his address to Jeddah Economic Forum, before a gathering of 2000 eminent people, he explained in detail the progress made in the economic field.
"I explained the success story of Pakistan and motivated the Saudi businessman to enhance their investment in Pakistan."
He said the recent visit of Pak-Saudi Joint Economic Commission led by Saudi finance minister to Pakistan had very positive reaction on the investors in Saudi Arabia.
The Prime Minister said he also visited the headquarters of Islamic Development Bank and met its President Ahmed Muhammad Ali and assured his full support and assistance in restructuring the IDB to make it a more vibrant body.
Shaukat Aziz also mentioned his visit to headquarters of Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC). He said during his meeting with OIC secretary general, he exchanged views on reinvigorating and restructuring the organisation, making it a vibrant body of Muslim Ummah to project the enlightened moderation concept presented by President Musharraf.
The Prime Minister said during his meeting with Saudi interior minister, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, the co-operation between the two countries in the fight against the menace of terrorism was also discussed. Shaukat Aziz said he also thanked Prince Naif for taking proper care of the Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia.
He also mentioned his meetings with Saudi business community particularly Prince Walid Bin Talal, who is the fourth richest person in the world, saying he discussed with him investment opportunities in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said Prince Walid Bin Talal has agreed to visit Pakistan very soon to look into the aspects to invest in Pakistan, taking advantage of liberal economic policies.
