However, the selection of these members and appointment of six advisors to the council could not be finalised by the ministry due to one reason or the other despite passage of more than four months after the NALC election.
In addition to the deteriorating law and order, differences between the minister for Kana division and ruling PML is also one of the significant factors responsible for delay in the political set up.
The ruling league, which is in majority in the council obtaining 14 out of 24 seats, wants induction of technocrats, advisors and women councillors from Muslim league.
These sources claimed that the minister for Kana division was the ultimate authority to take decision on matters, however, according to sources he might consult the ruling party.
When Senator Nisar Memon was contacted on telephone to comment on the matter, he said their party has majority in the council and their point of view should be given due weightage.
Memon further said the minister, who is also chief executive of the area, has a right to decide about the matters of the area, however, he added that he should respect the democratic right of majority party.
Sources also revealed that there is a possibility that the minister might induct one or two advisors from the PPPP and the PML (N).
Besides political activities, the minister would also review the judicial commission's report, which has been set up to probe into the January 8 tragedy.
The minister is scheduled to visit the area, soon after flights operation resumes.
