Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan along with Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Saturday conducted aerial survey of Karachi to inspect security measures taken by police and other security agencies during Muharram-ul-Haram. Later, briefing to newsmen at Governor House, Governor Sindh said situation in Karachi was "satisfactory" due to strict security measures taken by the provincial administration and expressed the hope that no untoward incident will occur.

He informed that he had visited the city on Friday also to monitor security and other arrangements made the government for Muharram and Ashura.

The governor expressed satisfaction on strict security measures taken for maintaining law and order situation in the city, saying these arrangements were "better as compared to previous year."

Governor said government had taken similar security arrangements for all other districts of Sindh while setting up of co-ordinated control rooms simultaneously in Governor House, CDGK Secretariat, and Sindh Information Department was this year's main achievement.

He said establishment of control rooms were aimed at quickly responding to complaints regarding any misfortune during performance of Muharram rites.

Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui, Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh for Information Salahuddin Hyder and Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Aslam Sanjrani were also present.
