Ambassador of Spain in Pakistan, Antinio Seqra Moris, called on Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at his residence here on Saturday. Talking to the distinguished guest, Elahi said that revolutionary measures are being taken for bringing improvement in education, health and other sectors in the province. He said a comprehensive programme is also being implemented for preserving the cultural heritage of Lahore. He said that recently held marathon in the provincial metropolis was a thumping success and the enthusiastic participation of Lahorites in the race is a proof of the fact that the city has a great importance with regard to sports.

He said special measures are being taken for restoration and renovation of the historic sites of the City and other areas of the province. He said Pakistan would take part in an international car race for the first time in its history, which would further enhance its image in the sports world. He said relations between Pakistan and Spain are based on sound foundations and would further strengthen with the passage of time.

The Spanish ambassador said that he would be relieved of his diplomatic responsibilities in Pakistan in March this year. He said during his stay in the country, economic and trade relations between Spain and Pakistan had considerably improved. He said Pakistanis are very loving people and he has a number of friends in Pakistan.

Honorary Consul General of Spain in Lahore, Zaheer ul Islam was also present on this occasion.
