Pakistan and India are in constant contact and also held talks through secret diplomatic channels for amicable resolution of conflicting issues. Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri said this while addressing a news conference here on Saturday. Kasuri maintained that details of these contacts were intentionally not made public due to sensitive nature of issues. He was of the view that Pakistan and India had 'fixed positions' on different conflicting issues, that was why public opinion in both the countries considered the same as their national point of view.

He further said that decision of starting Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service is the most significant CBM between Pakistan and India after cease-fire along Line of Control (LoC).

Nevertheless, this decision is victory of the people of Pakistan, India and Kashmir, which will also be helpful in checking human rights violations in Kashmir.

Apart from this, this action will pave the way for including the Kashmiri people in the ongoing dialogue process. Welcoming recent statements of Pakistani, Indian and Kashmiri leadership in favour of this decision, he said that Pakistan and India must come forward to remove all their differences through talks.

To a question, Kasuri said the Indian external minister during his recent visit to Pakistan extended him an invitation to visit India. He disclosed that agenda of the next six-month talks between Pakistan and India has also been finalised.

Responding to another question regarding arrest of Kashmiri leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz, he said necessary details are being collected and the foreign office will issue its point of view formally.

To another question, he said Pakistan and Iran are enjoying cordial relations. He added that Iran should fulfil its obligations being signatory of NPT, while international community must also respect the right of Iran to get atomic technology for peaceful purpose.

"If international community has reservations on violation of NPT by Iran, the issue must be resolved through talks. We don't want another war on our border as it can cause disturbances on other borders," he added.

He further said Pakistan is making sincere efforts for resolution of issues pertaining to Baglihar and Kishanganga dams.

To another query, he further said Pakistan would not rollback its nuclear programme. Pakistan has strong command and control system and fulfilling its all responsibilities as a responsible nation, he added.

To a query, he said efforts are underway to restore peace in Balochistan.

Talking about his visit to Japan he is undertaking from February 21 to 23, Kasuri said he would meet Japanese leaders and discuss possibilities of expanding bilateral co-operation in various fields.

He said he would also brief Japanese leadership on situation in Afghanistan, UN reforms, Pak-India relations and Iraq.

"I will also take the opportunity to emphasise Pakistan's commitment to nuclear non-proliferation and various measures of export controls that we have taken recently," he added.

He said Japan is an important economic and trading partner of Pakistan. The visit will also prepare ground for the forthcoming visit of the Prime Minister of Japan.

He said Pakistan is committed to non-proliferation objectives of the international community.
