The government will issue ownership rights to dwellers of 'katcha' settlements, and will provide their colonies with all basic facilities, said Punjab Tourism Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal. Addressing a function to support the PML candidate Farooq Amjad Mir for the NA-127 by-polls here on Friday night, he said a survey of katcha settlements had been completed, in the light of which ownership rights would be given on merit, said a handout issued here on Saturday.

He said the government was fulfilling its election promises and providing basic facilities to the people at their doorstep throughout the province, a fact acknowledged even by its opponents, he added.
