Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that to clash with the 'evil elements' was his mission and he had also clashed with Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif in the past.
He disclosed that Maqbool Shaikh, a close relative of Imtiaz Shaikh, was behind the kidnapping for ransom incidents in Shikarpur and Larkana. He said that kidnapped persons were found from his places.
Arbab Rahim said that after taking charge of the chief minister's post, he had asked Imtiaz Shaikh to computerise record of the Revenue department and deputed an honest officer, Misbah Tunio, for this task; but Imtiaz Shaikh failed to get the record computerised and transferred Misbah Tunio on false pretexts.
Dr. Arbab said that Imtiaz Shaikh had a reputation of a corrupt officer in Jam Saddiq era.
He said that even now many of the Shell petrol pumps of Karachi were owned by Imtiaz Shaikh, besides he had got substantial lands in district Ghotki.
Arbab said that there were reports in print media that Imtiaz Shaikh had contacted with Makhdoom Amin Fahim. He said that on contact Makhdoom had clarified that Imtiaz Shaikh had contacted him through a friend.
The Sindh chief minister said that he had always took decisions after mutual consultation. He said that he along with Pakistan Muslim League workers would spread the party message in the province.
He said that soon the Pakistan Muslim League workers be appointed as members in Zakat committees, Baitul Mal and crime control committees.
He said that he had apprised the President Musharraf about the Retti-Bajri problem of Karachi and a decision in this regard would be taken soon.
He said that the ladies wing of party would also be strengthened in the province. On the occasion, the PML leaders and workers expressed their confidence over the leadership of Arbab Ghulam Rahim and vowed to strengthen his hands.
On the occasion, through a resolution they demanded of the PML president, Chaudhry Shujaat to sack Imtiaz Shaikh from the post of PML Sindh general secretary till decision of inquiry against him.
