The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed Additional Inspector General (Legal) to appear before the court on February 22, in a bail application filed by one Hadiyat. The court also directed the AIG to submit his report indicating reasons of non-submission of the petitioner's case before the trial court, despite lapse of more than one year. The petitioner in his petition prayed to the court to allow him bail on the ground that despite lapse of period of over one year, the respondent police officials failed to submit challan of the case before the trial court.

Earlier, the law officer informed the court that co-accused in the case are proclaimed offenders, therefore, police officials could not complete challan of the case.

The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, issued notice to the respondent AIG and directed him to appear before the court on next date of hearing and also submit his report.
