Kuwait-based Public Warehousing Co won a US Defence Logistics Agency contract worth up to $3.27 billion for "subsistence items" for US armed forces, the US Defence Department announced Wednesday. Work also will be performed in Doha, Qatar, and Mersyn Free-Zone, Turkey, the Pentagon said, with completion expected by December 15, 2005. The contract, awarded Tuesday, was awarded without competitive bidding, the Defence Department said.

Public Warehousing, which has benefited from contracts with US forces in Iraq and Kuwait, said in November its nine-month net profit nearly quadrupled to $231 million from the year-ago period.
