He said Malaysia has declared Pakistan as a source country under which Pakistan would be able to export its general workers (skilled and semiskilled). Federal Secretary Labour, Manpower, Malik Asif Hayat and Joint Secretary Administration Chaudhry Muhammad Azam were also present in the meeting.
Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that a Malaysian delegation headed by Secretary General Home Affairs would soon visit Pakistan to follow up on MoU and today's meeting to finalise the modalities and procedure required for importing manpower from Pakistan.
He said Pakistan would minimise the concerns of Malaysia regarding export of manpower. He said according to the requirement of Malaysia, Pakistan will arrange pre departure training for intending migrants.
Under this course the intending migrants would be provided basic knowledge of language and culture.
The minister assured the delegation that any form of exploitation by promoters regarding high charges would be strictly checked and in this connection the interest of the intending migrants would be protected.
Besides, he said the security clearance of the intending migrants would be fully monitored.
Ghulam Sarwar Khan also lauded the offer of the Malaysian minister regarding the re-entry of deported 2,821 Pakistanis who had been staying in Malaysia illegally, however, they can apply legally on the requirement of Malaysian employers for working there.
He said that after these four sectors the range areas of exporting Pakistani workers would be expanded with the passage of time.
