A division bench of the Supreme Court on Thursday accepted the appeal of Daewoo Corporation for rehearing in goods export tax case and directed the appellant to deposit undisputed amount within fifteen days. The Daewoo Corporation filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the judgement of the Lahore High Court in tax case imposed by District Council Attock.

The bench, comprising Justice Faqir Mohammad Khokhar and Justice Tassaddaque Hussain Jillani, allowed rehearing of the appeal on limited grounds especially regarding the disputed tax amount while granting a leave to the Corporation.

Syed Sajjad Hussain Bukhari Advocate represented the Provincial government of Punjab. Ayub Bukhari Advocate appeared before the court as counsel of the District Council Attock.

Aftab Ahmed Khan Advocate appeared before the Apex Court as counsel of the Daewoo Corporation.

It may be mentioned here that the Daewoo Corporation filed an appeal in the Supreme Court after the dismissal of the case by the Lahore High Court.

Earlier, the Supreme Court also dismissed the appeal against the judgement of the LHC but allowed to file an appeal for rehearing of the case on limited grounds.
