Indian Minister for External Affairs Natwar Singh called on Punjab Governor Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) at Governor House on Thursday. The Governor apprised the Indian Minister of positive developments made by the leadership on both sides of the border to usher in an era of co-operation and understanding, bbased on mutual collaboration. He, however, pointed out that complete trust and co-operation could only be achieved after critical issues were resolved amicably to the satisfaction of all.

He also briefed the Indian Minister on the improvements taking place in the economy, education, health, real estate, construction and industrial sectors in Pakistan. This was a result of President Musharraf' s bold and dynamic policies, he added.

Natwar Singh appreciated the Governor Punjab's candid appraisal of national and international issues and assured him more confidence building measures would be undertaken soon which would further improve bilateral relations between the two countries, he said.

Later, a three member parliamentary delegation led by Sri Lanka Parliament Speaker Lokubandra also called on the Governor of Punjab at Governor House.
