The Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) in collaboration with Mari gas and government holdings for the first time would undertake drilling an offshore exploration well X-2, located about 58 kilometers south-west of Pasni, Balochistan. The PPL is the first Pakistani company to venture into offshore exploration for oil and gas as an operator.

The jack-up drilling rig is on location and the drilling operations are expected to commence from Friday.

To support the drilling operation all arrangements have been finalised including mobilisation of supply boats, helicopters, support services, etc, that have been mobilised from the Gulf.
