In order to maintain peace during Ashura-e-Muharram, Punjab government has banned pillion riding in some 18 sensitive districts of the province from February 17. The districts include Lahore, Multan, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan etc. The traffic police following the pillion-riding ban have set up pickets at various Lahore areas. The people have complained about the misbehaviour of the police. They were of the view that the government should have informed the public at least a day earlier about the ban enforcement.
