On the occasion of Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan's birth centenary a seminar was held. On this occasion vice chairperson of Institute Huma Bukhari told in her welcome addressed "the Newports Institute has privilege that it has always aimed to provide forum of intellectual discussion for the young generation along with a high level of education it is therefore necessary to commemorate the living achievements of Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan and the educational institute bring their achievements as a role model for the students because remembering them and their thoughts and actions bring light to the young community and motivates them to work for the improvement of the country.

Hopelessness and setbacks are removed and enthusiasm develops. Human beings are motivated to serve a common man, which is necessary for good development in any country."

On the occasion the chief guest member national assembly Fozia Wahab said that Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan had a deep vision on nation and international issues and this was the reason before the present idea of Micro financing she emphasise upon the initiative of home industries but alas the idea could not get the political strength.

Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan understood that a network of home industry is essential to reduce poverty from Pakistan. In her personal capacity she did much for health and education as well as for small industry trough unofficial association of A.P.W.A.

The respective well-known scholar Shamim Kazmi said that Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan was a simple but graceful lady. Whole nation is proud of her steps and achievements. Now it is for the young generation to follow her path in order to make the Pakistan well educated and motivated to go ahead.

The principle of Allama Iqbal College in her research paper threw a detail light upon the thoughts and action of Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan and said that it was a great honour of country when she accepted to become a governor of the province.

She also discussed about the national and international recognition for Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan though she became a legendary figure.

In this gathering Bushra Raza, Nida Ali, Shahab-ud-Din, Shahnaz Soomro, Najma Tahir, and with other guests Quaid-e-Azam's grandson Mohammad Aslam Ponja was also present on request.-PR
