Five unidentified armed dacoits looted a yarn-loaded truck near Chiraghabad on Saturday night. The truck was going to Faisalabad from Mukhtar Textile Mills. According to details, a truck (FSE-2681) was going to Faisalabad from Mukhtar Textile Mills carrying a consignment of 100 bags of cotton yarn. When the truck reached near Chiraghabad on Jhang road, five armed dacoits riding in a white colour car stopped the truck and made hostage driver Sabir Khan and conductor Hadir Khan at gunpoint.

Later, driver and conductor were shifted to the car from the truck and two of the five dacoits sped away the truck towards an unknown place. The driver and the conductor were forced to step out of the car and locked in a room of a roadside mosque near Langrana police station. Both were later recovered at the Fajr prayers from the mosque's room, when some Namazis reached there. Police have registered a case against the dacoits.

The managing director of Mukhtar Textile Mills Limited, Rana Mohammad Saleem, has announced Rs 1 lakh award for those persons who will pinpoint the clue of culprits and the yarn-loaded truck.

Meanwhile, Anjuman-e-Tajran Faisalabad and yarn merchants have expressed grave concern over the growing incidents of dacoities at an alarming rate, which has spread a wave of fear and a sense of insecurity among the business and industrial community of the city.

They urged the government, especially the district governments of Toba Tek Singh, Jhang and Faisalabad, to take all precautionary measures to avert the untoward incidents, so as to create a sense of security among the members of the business community.
