A delegation of Income Tax assistant commissioners under-training in Directorate General of Training and Research, Lahore, along with Faculty Members visited the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on February 1, 2005 for a briefing on the working of the bourse, market performance and investment. KSE Managing Director Moin M. Fudda welcomed the delegation to the Exchange, and apprised them about the major changes in the regulatory reforms, emphasis on investors' protection and transparency of the system.

Fudda also talked about the major reasons for the market appreciation, including economic reform, the inflow of funds from non-resident Pakistanis, and the high liquidity.

The delegation interacted with Fudda and asked questions about how to invest in the market and how to evaluate the best investment.

The delegation members showed special interest in understanding the differences between electronic trading and out-cry, and what difference has it made with relationship to volumes and transparency.

The delegation toured the KSE trading hall to witness live trading terminals.-PR
