Javedan Cement Ltd has increased prices of cement by Rs 5 per bag from February 3, 2005 after State Cement Corporation had raised cement prices. According to market sources here on Monday, the prices of ordinary Portland cement has been increased to Rs 223 per bag, slag cement to Rs 210 per bag and sulphate resistance cement (SRC) to Rs 230 per hag.

It may be noted that the demand for cement has increased due to large development projects in Pakistan and exports to Afghanistan, Middle East and Europe, resulting in the increase in its prices in the country.
