This year, the 04th of February brings tidings of joy overshadowed by a sense of grief over the heavy toll of lives taken by the tsunami and the Nation's heart goes to share the grief of those stricken by awful tragedy. The world is sharing the grief and apart from sympathy everyone is doing its utmost sending aid and relief goods from all corners of the globe but by it will take long for the balm of time to heal the wounds.

This brave nation, despite the awful natural calamity is back in the world arena fighting for its place in the comity of nations and it is not going to be long before the people of this island will forget the past to brave the future.

As an Honorary Consul of this great island nation, I wish them God speed on the path to progress and prosperity.
