National Assembly (NA) Deputy Speaker Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob on Thursday said the government is taking revolutionary steps for the promotion of health and education sectors. He was addressing a gathering in a nearby village Khatana at the inauguration ceremony of the Chaudhry Mohammad Zaman Memorial Hospital. "The government has enhanced the grant for the education sector from Rs 2 billion to Rs 8 billion", he said, adding that more doctors are being posted in the rural areas to provide better medical facilities to the people.

Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob said the government is working on priority basis to have similar curriculum in the private and government schools and is devising a strategy in this regard.

Lauding the efforts by the philanthropists for setting up a free hospital, he assured them of government's assistance and support for such initiatives. The NA Deputy Speaker was briefed that the hospital incurred an expenditure of Rs 7.5 million, and the people are being provided free medical treatment and medicines.
