The process for the review of bowlers with suspect actions is one of the key topics on the agenda of the ICC Chief Executives' Committee meeting, which begins in Melbourne (Australia) today (Thursday). According to a press release issued by PCB here on Wednesday, the Chief Executives of the ICC's 10 full member countries plus three representatives from the ICC's associate member countries will review recommendations for the revision of the ICC's bowling review process during its two-day meeting.

The CEC has the power to make a decision based on proposals initially formulated by an expert panel comprising Angus Fraser, Michael Holding, Tony Lewis, Tim May, Aravinda de Silva and the ICC GM (cricket), David Richardson.

The expert panel's proposals were then subjected to further scrutiny by the ICC cricket committee, which is made up of former international players, half of whom are nominated by current players, and is chaired by Sunil Gavaskar.

The ICC committee rigorously analysed the proposals in October 2004 before formulating a series of recommendations to be considered by this CEC meeting at which Gavaskar will also be present.

Also on agenda of the CEC meeting are several issues in relation to ICC events including the format of the ICC Champions Trophy 2006, the venue for the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup 2006 and a progress report on the holding of the ICC Super Series in Australia in October 2005.

Discussions on anti-doping and anti-racism policies have reached a key stage and the CEC is likely to make recommendations to the ICC board on both topics. The agenda also includes papers' on the review of the structure of cricket, the standard of pitches and 20-overs-a-side cricket.
